The Health Effects Institute (HEI) is seeking to nominate experts to serve on its Research Committee. This important HEI Committee is composed of leading independent scientists who typically serve two 4-year terms. The Committee is responsible for defining, implementing, and overseeing HEI’s research program, which provides high-quality, impartial, and relevant science on the health effects of air pollution.
The Health Effects Institute seeks to hire a Director of Science Communications to manage and enhance communication of HEI-funded science research on the health effects of air pollution and unconventional oil and gas development to U.S. and global audiences, advancing HEI’s reputation as a trusted source of science.
HEI has published Research Report 204, Novel Mechanisms of Ozone-Induced Pulmonary Inflammation and Resolution, and the Potential Protective Role of Scavenger Receptor BI, presenting a study led by Dr. Kymberly Gowdy of East Carolina University (now at Ohio State University).
In the new issue of Update, read about Ellen Mantus, the new HEI Director of Science; HEI’s timely and targeted 2021 Virtual Conference (Sign Up Now!); five HEI studies underway on COVID-19, air pollution, and health; a transition in HEI’s Global Health program… and more!
The HEI Annual Report for 2020, Valuing Science, Informing Decisions, describes how HEI provides high quality, impartial, and relevant science to inform public policy on air quality and public health. The report highlights HEI’s latest achievements and initiatives.
