The HEI/EPA Workshop on Air Quality Data in Health Effects Research was held November 30 – December 1, 2006 in Newton, MA. The purpose of this workshop was to consider how best to use the accumulating air quality data on PM components to address the important hypotheses of interest for health outcomes. The HEI Workshop on Health Effects Associated with Exposure to Mobile Source Air Toxics (MSATs) was held May 15, 2006 in Washington DC. This workshop summarized the findings of the HEI Special Panel that has been reviewing exposure and toxicity information for MSATs (download the draft agenda in Word format). CRC and HEI Workshop on Diesel Emissions and Toxicity Testing - November 6 and 7, 2003 in Denver, Colorado.
The Advanced Collaborative Emissions Study (ACES) is a cooperative, multi-party effort initially proposed by the Engine Manufacturers Association (EMA) to determine the emissions and health effects of new, controlled heavy-duty diesel engines being prepared for market to meet 2007 on-road heavy-duty emissions standards.  The Coordinating Research Council (CRC) and HEI recently held a workshop as a first step to discuss approaches for emissions characterization and health effects assessment.
